The Hamilton County Board of Education approved a new contract for Superintendent Justin Robertson, securing its director of schools for the next four years.

Robertson’s new contract, which takes effect in July and ends in June 2028, raises his base pay to $255,000 a year and includes the potential for performance-based raises and bonuses. He was first hired in December 2021.

“When we were negotiating that early contract, we brought Dr. Robertson in at a low level, we really did, because he convinced us that he wanted the opportunity to prove to us that he could lead this district,” Board Chair Joe Smith, R-Hixson, said. “He’s done just that.”

The contract was approved 10-1 Thursday.
