Mayor Tim Kelly is holding an open house at the Avondale Community Center from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 30.
“In the past, these conversations have helped us identify and solve real problems in our community,” Kelly said in a statement Tuesday, announcing the event.
Residents are encouraged to sign up by going to cha.city/officehours. Appointments will guarantee a one-on-one meeting with the mayor and one of his staff members.
Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the city press release, and a member of the mayor’s staff will confirm and schedule participation prior to the event.
“Previous open office hours events have filled up, and we want to make sure we meet with everyone who wants to meet,” Eric Holl, senior adviser to the mayor, said in an email. “It allows us to ensure the correct staffer will be able to meet … For example, if you tell us your concern is about an issue at your local park, we can make sure you get to speak with someone from the Department of Parks and Outdoors.”
Holl said it will be the fourth open house Kelly has hosted since being elected.
