A 15-member search committee will begin looking for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s next chancellor early next year, the UT System announced Monday.
In November, Chancellor Steve Angle, who has led the university for the past 11 years, announced he would be stepping down from his leadership role to join the faculty beginning Jan. 1.
UTC College of Business Dean Robert Dooley was named interim chancellor later that month.
The search committee — chaired by Yancy Freeman, the chancellor of the University of Tennessee at Martin, who previously worked at UTC for 31 years — will launch its search in January and hopes to name a chancellor in June, a news release said.
