The coming year should see the completion of some major interstate projects in the Chattanooga region, while one is just hitting its stride.

The $161 million second phase of the Interstate 24/75 split project should be completed in 2025, along with the $54 million state Highway 60 project in Cleveland. Meanwhile, the $83 million interchange project on I-75 at Hamilton Place will be in full swing, with a targeted completion date still more than two years away.

“2025 will be business as usual in terms of interstate activity,” in the Chattanooga area, Rae Anne Bradley, spokesperson for the state transportation agency, said in an email. “All projects are progressing well and still have their original contract completion dates.”

The ongoing projects in the Chattanooga area are funded through completion through the former Gov. Bill Haslam’s Improve Act, passed in 2017.
