In an effort to increase public access to meetings, members on the CARTA board of directors will consider altering their monthly meetings, such as a change of time and venue.

The board meets at 10 a.m. the third Thursday of every month at the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority administrative building at 1617 Wilcox Blvd.

CARTA board member Corey Evatt, citing best transparency practices from national public transportation advocacy organization TransitCenter, spearheaded the discussion at Thursday’s board meeting to alter the time and place of the meetings.

“Transparency enables trust,” Evatt said, “trust from the public and the press.”
