Note: This story was updated on July 11 to correct the end date of Chattanooga Taco Week.
In my humble opinion, every week in Chattanooga could be (or should be) “taco week.”
Just last week, I was having a passionate conversation with a cousin, arguing that in the next five years taquerias will inevitably outnumber barbecue spots in Chattanooga, and I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing.
Let’s put it this way: Through my calculations, you can eat a taco at different restaurants/truck/trailer for at least two weeks straight, and that’s not counting the legendary Taco Bell on Broad Street.
Thanks to Nooga Nightlife, there will be an official Chattanooga Taco Week, starting Monday and ending July 21. Like previous weeks dedicated to the celebration of a certain food — barbecue, pizza, burgers — there are monetary deals attached. During Chattanooga Taco Week, there will be a $5 price tag on tacos that participating restaurants choose to offer.
