Microsoft outage at fault

The widespread global Microsoft outage changed procedures for early voting at the Hamilton County Election Commission Friday but did not stop it.

Elections administrator Scott Allen told this page that the outage, which hit airlines, banks, hospitals, doctors offices and many businesses, caused the commission to go to a paper backup plan but that voting would continue. He said they were planning that voting at satellite locations would proceed as well.

Early voting continues today through Saturday, July 27.
