Incumbent Jill Black, D-Lookout Mountain, said she wants to continue to support students and teachers with another term on the Hamilton County Board of Education.
“I’m invested because I’m a parent of public school kids,” she said in an interview. “I’m invested because of my heart for service to my community. … I’ve made it part of who I am to be of service whether I’m getting paid for it or not. My jobs have always been in service.”
Black and Republican Sherrie Ford, of Lookout Valley, are seeking to represent District 11 on the school board. District 11 includes the Tiftonia, Lookout Mountain and Missionary Ridge areas.
