The Tennessee Volunteers have reached the NCAA baseball tournament’s super regional round for a fourth consecutive year.

They have done so in a very matter-of-fact manner.

Tennessee obliterated Northern Kentucky, Indiana and Southern Mississippi this past weekend inside Lindsey Nelson Stadium by the combined score of 33-12, with no contest closer than a six-run margin. The Vols will enter this weekend’s super regional against visiting Evansville having won seven straight games dating back to the Southeastern Conference tournament in Hoover, Alabama.

“Their focus has been good, and their mind is in the right place,” coach Tony Vitello said of his 53-11 Vols this past weekend in a news conference. “Our guys celebrated what we did in Hoover, but then they drew a line in the sand. At least that’s the vibe I got, and they moved on to the next thing.”

Evansville advanced Monday afternoon with a 6-5 stunning of No. 16 overall seed East Carolina in the Greenville Regional final.
