The Chattanooga Lookouts planned ballpark Thursday edged toward what’s now a July groundbreaking after officials were updated on key mileposts, including a lease giving the team valuable naming rights.

The proposed $115 million stadium’s naming rights could be “a big number,” especially given the high-profile site along Interstate 24, said Mark Mamantov, an attorney drafting agreements between the parties.

“We don’t know what that number is going to be,” he said during a Thursday meeting of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Sports Authority.

Rich Mozingo, the Lookouts president, said the team hasn’t started negotiations with potential suitors over naming rights yet but likely will do so after ground is broken at the South Broad District site.
