Chatt Prep is starting to become a fixture at the “Glass House” in Murfreesboro for the boys’ BlueCross Basketball State Championships.

For the second time in as many years a program not set to have the school’s first senior class until 2025 has reached the TSSAA Class 1A state tournament.

The Sentinels (24-6) have overcome a great deal of adversity to make a return trip over Monteagle Mountain possible, as they will take on Union City (29-5) in the state quarterfinals Wednesday at 5 eastern from Middle Tennessee State University’s Murphy Center.

Helping start the basketball program at Chatt Prep in 2018 when it was a middle school, Christoffer Collins decided to hand the keys over to his twin brother, Christian Collins, ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Already looking to fill the big shoes of his brother after a 29-win season and Final Four finish, Christian was hit with a big loss before his first season got underway when returning 6-foot-6 sophomore standout Joel Bulis injured his knee going up for a dunk in practice.
