The Chattanooga Red Wolves will open their 2024 schedule Friday night when they face Lexington Sporting Club in Georgetown, Kentucky.

Here are five things to look for as the USL League One soccer club’s sixth season kicks off.

Bouncing back

The Red Wolves went 8-17-7 last season, the worst in club history as they finished 10th in the 12-team standings. It came on the heels of a run to the USL League One final in 2022 and no losing seasons in their first five years of existence, and for a club that has one of the highest payrolls in the league, the 2023 campaign was simply unacceptable.

“The Chattanooga Red Wolves are a club and organization meant to do one thing, and that’s win,” general manager Sean McDaniel said. “We’re not a developmental team; we’re not a developmental league.”
