For six home games this season the Chattanooga Lookouts will welcome a new alternate identity, which brings pride to one of the greatest inventions to come out of the Scenic City.
Beginning on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27, the Lookouts will welcome fans to AT&T Field as the Chattanooga Wreckers. This is a tribute to Ernest Holmes Sr., who in 1916 invented the wrecker, otherwise known as the "tow truck".
The new ball cap for the Wreckers has an orange tow hook and chain tow truck on it with the boom being a baseball bat and the hook being a baseball. The jersey has the word "WRECKERS" centered in white with an orange outline, while the word "Nooga" is written in cursive and boxed in on the left sleeve with a light blue outline.
The International Towing Museum hosted the new alternate identity reveal on Tuesday, which comes two weeks before the Chattanooga Lookouts' home opener against the Tennessee Smokies on Tuesday, April 9.
Along with the International Towing Museum, located on 3315 Broad Street, Miller Industries is also a sponsor for the new alternate jerseys to be worn by the Lookouts in six home games this season.
The Lookouts will have merchandise related to the Chattanooga Wreckers on sale starting at 1 p.m. Tuesday (March 26), while the International Towing Museum will also have an inventory of team merchandise as well.
