A Chattanooga-based hotel developer cut the ribbon Friday to open one of three new hotels built or under development in the past year at one of the exits along Interstate 75 in Cleveland, Tennessee.

The new 118-room Courtyard by Marriott built by the Dynamic Group is sandwiched between a decade-old Hampton Inn and a new StayApt Suites hotel and is across the street from a dual-brand Home2Suites and Tru by Hilton hotel being developed by another Chattanooga hotel firm, Vision Hospitality Group.

The new $21 million hotel is one of 10 that have opened so far at Exit 27 on I-75 along or near Paul Huff Parkway in Cleveland. The new Hilton hotel by Vision Hospitality will add an 11th at the exit next year.

“We continue to see our tourism industry grow from a mixture of business and leisure travelers,” Melissa Woody, vice president of tourism development for the Cleveland/Bradley County Chamber of Commerce, said in an interview. “This exit is especially appealing for many travelers on I-75 as a stopping point along their trips, and we also are seeing more people coming to Cleveland to take advantage of our outdoor attractions, our Cherokee heritage, our great colleges or our many religious events.”
