Votes not as varied

Hamilton County Republicans marched as one earlier this week, more so than they did in either of the last two elections.

Presidential candidate Donald Trump, U.S. Senate incumbent Marsha Blackburn and incumbent U.S. Rep. Chuck Fleischmann drew within 430 votes of each other in the county in their respective races, Trump garnering 97,051 votes, Blackburn 97,340 and Fleischmann 97,481.

In 2016, Trump had 3,584 fewer votes than Fleischmann (with no U.S. Senate race), and in 2020, Trump tallied 92,105 votes, 2,997 fewer than U.S. Senate candidate Bill Hagerty and 1,367 fewer than Fleischmann.
