There’s nothing remotely secretive about the Central High School football team’s offensive game plan.
In fact, it can be summed up succinctly as these six words — get the ball to Ronye Watson — often result in six points.
That was on full display last Friday as the senior athlete found the end zone in a variety of ways, compiling 436 total yards to lead his team to a convincing 62-34 road win over Region 3-3A foe Sweetwater.
That effort also earned the 5-foot-11, 175-pound senior this week’s Times Free Press Player of the Week honors.
“Everybody has film on us by now, so they know who the big dog is,” Central head coach Glen Carter said. “But they’ve still got to stop him. He’s the kind of guy that I could tell the defense which way we’re coming, give him the ball and he’d still make plays happen for us.
