No matter the opponent or the season, Chattanooga Christian School sophomore Tyre Brown always goes into any athletic arena with a level of self-confidence.

The reason why is that Brown knows the type of work he puts into his craft, whether he’s on the football field in the fall or the wrestling mat in the winter.

As the son of former NFL defensive lineman Tony Brown, who spent the bulk of his pro career with the Tennessee Titans, he has dealt with high expectations since he stepped onto campus at CCS. The younger Brown started for the Chargers during the 2023 football season, then became just the fourth freshman in CCS wrestling history to place at the TSSAA traditional state tournament.

“Tyre has a hard work ethic,” CCS football coach Grant Reynolds said of the 6-foot-1, 230-pound two-way lineman. “He does a good job in the classroom and is committed to being the best he can be at whatever he is doing. He is always pushing himself and the first kid to show up. He is a pleasure to be around.”

He was anything but that last week for the Central Purple Pounders.
