The city of Collegedale, McKee Foods, and American Legion Post 257, among others, are planning a salute to fallen service personnel and need the community’s help.
On Dec. 1, 2024, Veterans Memorial Park, located at 9318 Apison Pike in Collegedale, will be a main portion of The Little Debbie Fun Run, according to a news release. Uniformed active duty men and women will be stationed next to garden flag-style banners featuring individual pictures of fallen soldiers during their time of enlistment, or deceased post-enlistment due to service-related trauma, from Collegedale and surrounding communities.
Members of the American Legion Post 257 are seeking to connect with surviving family members who can provide permission, photos, name, rank, service branch and date of death, according to the news release.
