Prior to being brought together at GPS, new Bruisers athletic director Allie Tennyson and her staff had never met.

That included associate director of athletic operations Laura McIntyre, whose only connection with Tennyson was that both are former college athletes — from different sports across various other regions and perspectives.

But that common ground was enough to not only quickly form a like-minded administrative team but also a plan for how to build on the tradition of the past and help elevate the future of the school’s sports programs.

Tennyson and McIntyre, the school’s first-year lacrosse head coach who will also oversee much of the social media content for GPS, formed a fast friendship while sharing a similar vision for moving forward.

“There’s no question that our background as athletes and competitors helped us formulate a working relationship more quickly,” said Tennyson, who played soccer at nationally ranked Penn State. “We all bonded over our previous experience and brought that here as a commonality to build from and be better.”
