Travelers entering Tennessee on Interstate 75 are getting more food and drink options at exit 1 this year as East Ridge draws a handful of new restaurant and drive-through chains along Ringgold Road and Camp Jordan Parkway.
Smoothie King and Jersey Mike’s Subs are expanding into East Ridge, with new outlets scheduled to open later this year in a shuttered bank branch at Ringgold and North Mack Smith roads. Franchise owners for the the two restaurant chains are renovating a former BB&T bank office at 6501 Ringgold Road to house the latest eateries.
“This is a thriving area, and we hope our new neighbors will love our authentic fresh sliced/fresh grilled sub sandwiches,” Chris Daniels, Jersey Mike’s franchise owner in Chattanooga, said in an announcement of the new unit. “We can’t wait to be part of the community.”
Already at the exit 1 interchange, Whataburger has announced plans for its first Chattanooga restaurant in the former Wally’s restaurant site on Ringgold Road, and construction is moving ahead for the opening of a Panda Express restaurant along Camp Jordan Parkway on the other side of I-75 by this summer. A sign along Ringgold Road at North Mack Smith also says a Scooter’s drive-through coffee shop will be coming soon.
