In an attempt to win the support of skeptical neighbors worried about gentrification, plans for a 192-acre tract off Tunnel Boulevard in Eastdale have changed.

After several heated meetings with the community, developer Michael Kenner’s vision for the now-wooded area calls for around 1,600 units of housing, to include multifamily buildings, townhomes and small single-family cottages.

On Wednesday, Kenner and his team presented their revised plans, which add more single-family lots at the neighbors’ request, remove plans for taller buildings around the edge of the development and remove around 180 housing units that had previously been included on the site.
