Nine of the 10 Hamilton County commissioners who have filed their mandated 2025 mid-year campaign finance reports have raised a total of $2,619.40 from sources other than themselves.

The 10th commissioner has raised $47,450.

Commissioner Jeff Eversole, R-Ooltewah, either is expecting a whale of a challenge for his District 10 seat in 2026 or he has designs on another one.

The former Walmart business manager and current commission chair has clashed with Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp on numerous occasions, and numerous community leaders have speculated he is planning a mayoral run.

But the form he filed with the Hamilton County Election Commission for the appointment of a political treasurer says the office he is seeking is county commissioner for District 10, and the website for his campaign already in place clearly states he is “running for re-election.”
