HARRISON — A small group of people gathered in an old classroom, trying to see if they could move the needle.

Around the table Monday were four Hamilton County commissioners, representing mostly unincorporated areas, about 10 of the county’s most concerned residents, county Development Director Nathan Janeway and two representatives from the Homebuilders Association of Greater Chattanooga.

Their focus was Plan Hamilton, the county’s five-year strategic growth plan that’s been in the works since 2022.

A package of amendments to the plan is set to be proposed at the commission’s Wednesday meeting, an agenda shows.
