Vice mayor appoints treasurer

Tonya Sadler, vice mayor of Collegedale, has filed a form for the appointment of a political treasurer with the Hamilton County Election Commission, which allows her to raise and spend funds as a candidate. It does not mandate her to run for office. Her form indicates the seat she would be seeking if she decides to run is the District 10 post on the Hamilton County Commission currently held by Jeff Eversole.

Sadler, elected in 2022, indicated at the time she was a Hamilton County Criminal Court clerk and had previously been a spokesperson for the Collegedale Police Department, a court clerk for Collegedale’s municipal court, a reserve police officer and a 911 operator.

We reported last week that Eversole was the only member of the commission to have raised a substantial amount of money in 2025 — more than $47,000, about 18 times what the rest of the commissioners had raised combined. Since then, the only member of the commission who hadn’t filed a mid-year report, District 6 Commissioner David Sharpe, has done so, and he also reported raising no money so far this year.
