‘Not guilty’ is not same as ‘innocent’
Unhappy with prison conditions? Simple solution: Don’t do anything illegal that would put you behind bars. Nobody is forcing you to break the law, and you should know better.
Sure. There are innocent people in prison, and I, as a retired trial lawyer, commend the attorneys seeking, via the Innocence Project and otherwise, justice and exoneration, primarily through absolving DNA testing, for those wrongly convicted.
And for all who recall the adage, “It’s better for a guilty person to go free than for an innocent person to go to jail,” see the above commendation.
