The Wacker Chemical Corp., the U.S. side of Wacker Chemie, a German manufacturer of specialty chemical products, plans to lay off employees at its $2.5 billion plant in Bradley County.
The company did not share how many employees would be impacted by a workforce reduction, which it plans to announce in more detail in the next week.
The plant employs around 800 people, making it one of the county’s largest employers.
