A Chattanooga caregiver is facing financial exploitation charges after allegedly using a vulnerable adult’s bank card for $25,000 in purchases.
Jaliyah Truss, a 29-year-old caregiver with TennCare’s Choices program, was indicted May 28 by a Hamilton County grand jury, according to a Tennessee Bureau of Investigation press release.
Truss was charged with one count of financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult, one count of credit card fraud and one count of forgery, the release said.
In January, agents with TBI’s Medicaid Fraud Control Division followed a referral from the Department of Disability and Aging. Truss allegedly used a victim’s bank card to make more than $25,000 in unauthorized, personal purchases from August to November 2024.
