The Tennessee Valley Authority pulled its sponsorship from StarNight, a longtime Chattanooga fundraiser for the Siskin Children’s Institute, as it reviews spending and executive orders from the Trump administration.

Siskin Children’s Institute, a nonprofit that funds health care and support for special needs children and their families, initially listed TVA as a sponsor for its annual gala. But a press release from Siskin on Tuesday omitted TVA from the list of sponsors.

The federal utility has been a longtime partner of the Siskin Children’s Institute but will not be donating to StarNight this year, said Don Mueller, the nonprofit’s CEO.

“We’ve had a long partnership with TVA, and they have been great supporters over the years,” Mueller said in a phone interview. “We look forward to them being a partner in the future.

“I have no idea how they make their decisions,” he later added.
