An Atlanta-based developer and longtime owner of the Parkway Towers building said he wants to preserve the historic but dilapidated structure if possible as his group transforms the site into condos.
Maurice Kadosh, founder and CEO of KH Property Group, is planning a six-story residential structure with commercial space where the tower stands by Finley Stadium.
“As long as the structure allows it, the idea is to preserve the structure,” Kadosh said in an interview Friday.
The tower is more than a century old and tagged by graffiti with the word “JUNK” on one side of its top floor. It has long been viewed as an eyesore and a danger to trespassers.
Though the developers are still in the early stages of a design, they have received approval from the city for a six-story structure, Kadosh said.
