A developer’s plans for a large wooded tract off Tunnel Boulevard will be delayed — for longer than he’d like — after planners raised concerns about the proposal straining existing infrastructure and sticking out from surrounding neighborhoods.

Kenner’s plan calls for a mix of residential units, including apartments, townhomes and cottages, as well as some commercial space and common outdoor areas including gardens and trails.

Planning commissioners voted Monday to delay a vote on Kenner’s proposal another 60 days after hearing from some of the more than 30 neighbors who came in opposition to the project.
