The brush fires in Walker County were contained as of Wednesday morning, but fires remain within the containment zone, according to a Walker County news release.
Officials expect fires to remain through Thursday and advise people with respiratory issues to stay indoors.
Georgia Forestry, Rossville Fire and Walker County Fire Rescue are monitoring the containment zone. U.S. Forestry Service Hotshots, specialized ground-based firefighters, work to suppress the fires along containment lines to reduce the chances of the fire spreading, according to the release from county spokesperson Joe Legge.

The brush fires started Tuesday along a 4-mile stretch from Rossville to the Chickamauga area, according to a previous release from Walker County.
The fires appear to have been started by sparks from a train that ignited combustible material near the tracks in the area, the release said.
One house on South Mission Ridge did burn. No one was at the house at the time, according to the release.
