Meet the chef: Dustin Concannon brings casual but elevated dining to Signal Mountain’s backyard

Chattanooga native Chef Dustin Concannon began his cooking career at an early age with a very simple recipe.

“I remember making grilled cheese for my grandmother when I was 6 years old,” he says.

Now, after a hands-on education in restaurants around town during high school, then graduating from the culinary program at Virginia College Culinary Institute and working his way up the ladder in area restaurants, Concannon, 38, mans the kitchen at one of Chattanooga’s favorite eateries, Civil Provisions.
