Kamala Harris is on her Blame Everyone but Herself Book Tour. She is explaining why, with the incumbency and the more than $1 billion she spent in 107 days, she lost to a felon. And she left the DNC in debt. It is good to see her out there; it reminds us why America elected Trump as president.
The name of her book is “107 Days.” A more fitting title would have been “Kamala: Nothing Comes to Mind.”
Kamala was the district attorney of San Francisco, working under Mayor Willie Brown. Then she became known as the “tough on crime” California attorney general. Then we were reintroduced to her when she became a U.S. senator and wanted to defund the police. When Biden ran for president, he said he would make his VP a “woman of color.” She is that. We got to know her mediocre work as VP. Then, as a presidential candidate, she was rebooted yet again. Kamala has been reintroduced more times than the McRib.
Had she been elected, it would be yet another historic first as Democrats so love to claim. She would have been the first person with one parent from Jamaica and one from India (via Canada) to be elected the first African American female president. How cool would that have been?
In her book and on tour, Kamala blames her party’s “disloyalty” and the nation’s “racism/misogyny” for her loss.
She was nominated by her party without running in a single primary. Then she went on the campaign trail to tell us that Donald Trump “was a threat to democracy.” Oh yeah, for good measure, she threw in that he was a “fascist” — all solid policy points.
She says in the book she was distracted during the campaign when wildfires were raging from southern to northern California. She was fearful they would get to wine country. She did not blame poor governance in California for the lack of enough water; she blamed global warming and the GOP for the wildfires. California uses more water than any other state for its crops and bongs.
Biden/Harris ran up the U.S. debt to $36 trillion, and Kamala wasted more than $1 billion. She might have the only book that starts in Chapter 11.
There was not much demand for her on the speaking tour, so a book was her only option. She and Biden did try to make money by livestreaming their retort to Trump’s State of the Union, but it made Dems angry when they tried to charge $25 to view it. Comcast did make money on it; they charged $200 to activate mute buttons on their remotes.
In her book, Kamala throws her party and the nation under the bus as racist, homophobic and all the other kinds of -phobics Dems love to throw around. She laments choosing Tim Walz as her running mate, but said she did so because her number-one choice, Pete Buttigieg, was gay. To her way of thinking, the country is way too bigoted to have a Black woman and a gay man running things.
She said the struggle with men and “Jazz Hands” Tim Walz pretending to change oil in an ad did not help. Biden dragged her down, but she was “too loyal” to try to separate herself from his dismal presidency. Behind her candidacy were the Deep State, the media, and the Democratic machine; they thought they could win. Then Trump just happened to turn his head in Butler, Pennsylvania, and it was back to the drawing board.
But the good news: In some polls Kamala is leading in the 2028 Democrat nominee race with 21%, followed by Pete Buttigieg at 16%, Gavin Newsom at 12% and AOC at 11%. If I were dealt those five cards in poker, I’d fold.
Kamala’s weak track record and incoherent word salads made her easy for Trump to beat. Next election, Republicans will have formidable opposition and might have to change their theme song from “Y.M.C.A.” to “Wish They All Could Be California Girls.”
