About a year and a half after the Enterprise Center turned over records to the FBI, a federal investigation into technology classes taught by former Chattanooga City Council member Demetrus Coonrod remains unresolved.

“We’re still waiting word on the results of that investigation,” Sammy Lowdermilk, the new president and CEO of the Enterprise Center, said in an interview.

Coonrod was a two-term member of the Chattanooga City Council who ran an unsuccessful primary challenge in 2024 against state Rep. Yusuf Hakeem, D-Chattanooga. She did not seek reelection to the council in 2025.

Coonrod represented District 9, which includes East Chattanooga, Eastdale, Glenwood, Missionary Ridge, Ridgedale and part of Highland Park, on the council.
