Some primary candidates for Hamilton County Commission failed to disclose required donation information, intended to ensure transparency for voters, on their financial disclosures.

Tennessee code requires political candidates to include the occupation and employer for all individual campaign donations of $100 or more.

This information was not disclosed at all or was partially missing on forms submitted by incumbent commissioners Joe Graham, R-Lookout Valley; Chip Baker, R-Signal Mountain; Warren Mackey, D-Lake Vista; and Greg Beck, D-North Brainerd, as well as challenger Donna Christian-Lowe, R-Harrison.

There are five matchups on the ballot for County Commission, and all incumbents are running again.

“It’s all about transparency for the public so they can make good choices during the election process,” said Bill Young, the executive director of the Tennessee Bureau of Ethics and Campaign Finance.
