The Tennessee Volunteers will hold a sizable media session Tuesday afternoon to preview Wednesday morning’s start to preseason camp.
Until then, here is a by-the-numbers peek at Tennessee’s sixth year of the Josh Heupel era.
0 — The number of times the Vols play Florida and Georgia this season. The last year in which Tennessee didn’t face both the Gators and the Bulldogs was 1987.
0.46 — Tennessee’s plus turnover margin per game that has been produced so far under Heupel, an average that leads the Southeastern Conference.
1 — SEC home wins by last season’s Vols, with that lone triumph coming against Arkansas. Tennessee lost to Georgia, Oklahoma and Vanderbilt inside Neyland Stadium but countered that with a 3-1 road mark within the league that contained victories at Mississippi State, Kentucky and Florida.
3 — Active head coaches who have multiple wins over Alabama since the start of the 2018 season, with Heupel joined on that list by Georgia’s Kirby Smart and Oklahoma’s Brent Venables.
4 — Defensive starters returning for Tennessee, with linebackers Arion Carter and Jeremiah Telander, cornerback Ty Redmond and safety Edrees Farooq those four.
7 — Offensive starters back for the Vols, including running back DeSean Bishop, receivers Mike Matthews and Braylon Staley, and linemen David Sanders Jr., Wendell Moe Jr., Sam Pendleton and Jesse Perry.
11.02 — Points in the first quarter that the Vols have averaged under Heupel, a stat that leads the nation.

18 — Number of returning quarterback snaps with the Vols among George MacIntyre, Faizon Brandon and Ryan Staub, with MacIntyre accounting for all 18.
20 — Football Bowl Subdivision transfers on Tennessee’s roster who arrived in January, with some of the key names to remember including right tackle Ory Williams (LSU), defensive tackle Xavier Gilliam (Penn State), edge rusher Jordan Norman (Tulane), linebacker Amare Campbell (Penn State) and safety TJ Metcalf (Michigan).
28 — Years since the Vols won their most recent conference crown.
38.2 — Points per game that Tennessee has averaged through Heupel’s first five seasons, which tops all FBS programs.
45 — Wins by the Vols under Heupel against 20 defeats. The only Tennessee coaches who won more games through their first five full seasons were Phillip Fulmer (50 from 1993-97) and Bill Battle (46 from 1970-74).

3,100,000 — Dollars that new Tennessee defensive coordinator Jim Knowles earned last season at Penn State. He will make $2 million this year.
