I love our newspaper, BUT, after the first 50 words, does the newspaper have to charge 75 cents per word for anyone wanting to put an obituary of their loved one in the paper?

It used to be that our newspaper was where we first learned when someone had died in our community, what kind of life he/she lived, who were the family members left behind, and when the memorial services would be. Important information to honor the deceased.

But for most people, it’s just too expensive to put it in the paper now. Please help find a way to make obituaries in the Times Free Press affordable again.

Jackie, a dead bald eagle, got half of the obituary page (8/12) for free.
