After Chickamauga city attorneys presented evidence involving alleged inappropriateness by Mayor Trey Deck in the workplace, the City Council voted Monday night to remove him from office.
The council voted 4-1 in favor of removal. Council member Matthew Nave voted no.

“I voted the way I did because I was not convinced without a shadow of a doubt that he was guilty,” Nave said, “I had questions.”
The now-former mayor and his lawyers were absent for much of the hearing after saying they received threats Monday morning. The council voted to continue with the hearing despite Deck’s absence.
