A nonprofit planning agency used by the city for several major projects, some of them ongoing, is temporarily defunct.

The board of directors for the Chattanooga Design Studio announced Thursday the agency’s director, Eric Myers, would resign effective March 1.

Myers is the sole employee of the nonprofit after the board terminated the contract of its urban design manager, Jack Wood, in December. In January, the voicemail system for the studio listed four other employees, all of whom had left the agency between 2023 and 2024. The studio also had four interns across 2025.

Mark McKnight, board chair, said board members were grateful to Myers “for his excellent work” in a statement that referred to Chattanooga architect J. Stroud Watson.
