The Tennessee Volunteers begin the final third of their Southeastern Conference schedule Wednesday night when they host Oklahoma.
Tennessee has made it to this point with an 18-7 overall record and an 8-4 league mark, with the SEC standings entering Tuesday’s action containing the Vols in a four-way logjam for third place with Alabama, Kentucky and Vanderbilt behind the top two of Florida (10-2) and Arkansas (9-3). The Vols have two meetings with Vanderbilt and one with Alabama within their last six contests.
“You’re going to get a battle every night in the SEC, whether it’s the top of the league or the bottom of the league,” Tennessee sophomore guard Bishop Boswell said Tuesday afternoon during a news conference. “We’ve put in a lot of work and know how good we are, and obviously there are some games we would love to have back.
“We have a lot of games to go, so if we can get rolling at the right time and stay the course, we’ll be fine.”
This will be the third meeting ever between the Vols and Sooners and the first inside the Food City Center. Tennessee whipped Oklahoma 70-52 last year in Norman, shooting 60.4% from the floor.
