Tennessee five-star freshman forward Nate Ament had his worst shooting performance against a Southeastern Conference opponent during Saturday afternoon’s 69-65 win at Vanderbilt.

That wasn’t why he was still hurting Sunday morning.

“There were some bruises and some aches and some stuff like that, but it wasn’t anything too bad,” Ament said Monday during a news conference. “I’ve just got to be stronger and better with the ball. I think I did a good job of staying with the game and with the flow of the game.

“I don’t think I forced too much, but there are definitely things I can learn from.”

The Volunteers have won four straight games and eight of their last nine to achieve a 20-7 overall record and a 10-4 mark within the league. They venture to Missouri on Tuesday night (9 Eastern on the SEC Network) to face a Tigers team that is 18-9 overall and 8-6 in SEC play.
