All Christians should read Breakpoint in the Faith and Family section on Sunday, Jan. 4, entitled “When Christians don’t ‘get with the times,’ they change empires.”

This is a thought-provoking reminder of how Christian values affected the pagan world of the Roman Empire many centuries ago. Writers such as Justin Martyr (martyred for his faith), the unknown author of the Epistle to Diognetus and many others of the early church, give a stirring exposition of biblical truth and biblical morality.

Rather than trying to “get with the times,” Christians today should use those same values of truth and morality to impact the increasingly pagan world of today. Only then can we “change empires.”
