It never made much sense to have a vantage point above center field at AT&T Field.

Folks would have risked tumbling backward down Hawk Hill and onto Riverfront Parkway.

It never made much sense to have a vantage point above center field at Engel Stadium, either.

“That would have been 471 feet away, and you would have been on Third Street,” Chattanooga Lookouts president Rich Mozingo said this past week. “That would have been a problem, too.”

One of the most unique aspects to Erlanger Park, the new home of the Lookouts, is the Kubota of Chattanooga Club located above the wall in straightaway center and precisely 400 feet from home plate. The Kubota Club can accommodate anywhere from 150 to 170 people inside, according to Mozingo, as well as another 150 on its rooftop deck.
