Once known as the Carpet Capital of the World, and I guess it still is, Dalton could also have been known as the fried food capital of the world. There was a time when I would hungrily drive through and find little more than fast food and greasy diners. However, like many small Southern towns, Dalton has come into its own with flavors from around world and also close to home. Prime example: Cyra’s.
The Menu
Cyra’s touts itself as “simple goodness” with healthy recipes created with natural ingredients. Instead of french fries, you may order avocado fries. And instead of butter with your bread, it’s served with a flavorful herb oil.
Cyra’s takes advantage of the growing season and uses locally grown foods as much as possible. In season you might find fried green tomatoes or berry salads using local berries among the salad offerings. And speaking of berries, the blueberry bread pudding is a must. Bread puddings are a signature dessert for Cyra’s, and using blueberries makes it a warm-weather favorite.
