Without the need for an amplifier, Timothy Dooner’s voice boomed through the small recording studio on Market Street.
Sporting a beard, a ball cap and Spanish soccer wunderkind Lamine Yamal’s No. 19 jersey, he sat at a desk Wednesday afternoon draped with the American flag, a sign advertising the name of his new podcast, “Nooner with Dooner,” hanging behind him.
Knickknacks decorate a wall to his right, including a Jason Voorhees mask and several model trucks. His new podcast isn’t about soccer, sports or the “Friday the 13th” film franchise. It’s about the freight industry — a sector that has a commanding presence in Chattanooga. Local logistics companies regularly appear on lists of the fastest-growing businesses in the United States.
“People are creating content, but I don’t know if they’re fulfilling demand,” Dooner said about the industry’s media landscape. “Because a lot of the programming I listen to sounds like you’re listening to chess on the radio. It’s incredibly boring. For someone with ADHD like me, I can’t pay attention to it at all.”
