Letters to the editors: This is no ceasefire; Democrats fixated on wrong things

This isn’t ceasefire, by any definition

The dictionary still defines a ceasefire as “a cessation of fighting, a truce.” We often hear the term “fragile ceasefire” and other descriptions that are questionable, when in fact both sides are still participating in hostilities. The most chilling thing that I have seen, though, is Donald Trump saying that in the Middle East, “ceasefire” means something “more moderate.”

Those around him laughed. Their laughter is even more troubling than his saying it. We have become a sicker society than we seem to realize when we find humor in death and destruction. The greed for power as evidenced in our leadership has twisted reality such that we don’t recognize human beings are dead; schools are leveled; hospitals destroyed; crops, livelihoods, annihilated; the goodwill and cooperation necessary among nations, obliterated.

Are we truly OK with this?

Democrats fixated on wrong things

Radical leftists and Democrats call Republicans and conservatives Nazis. Yet, Nazis and Democrats have a lot in common. They both believe in socialism, gun control, media control, censorship, abortion and encourage violence.

Republicans stand for free enterprise and capitalism, secure borders, honest elections, real journalism, ethical judiciary, civil rights and personal liberty. The only thing the Democrats stand for is “Hate Trump.”

Democrats don’t care about fixing problems in this country such as crime, fraud, homelessness and corruption. They only want the power to control your lives. This validates the statistic that shows one out of three Democrats is just as stupid as the other two.
