A Bradley County man is behind bars on a charge of attempted second-degree murder following a stabbing incident in the Charleston community near the Hiwasse River and a manhunt.
Robert Dakota “Cody” Partin, 28, is being held without bond after he was taken into custody by the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday, according to a department press release. Partin was wanted in connection with a stabbing incident reported Friday on Old Charleston Road. Old Charleston Road runs parallel to U.S. Highway 11 from Charleston to Tasso Road in Cleveland.

The alleged victim, a relative of Partin’s, sustained multiple stab wounds during the incident and was transported for treatment, authorities said.
“The victim remains hospitalized and is currently listed in stable condition,” Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Lt. Robert Jones said Monday via email. “Information regarding the victim’s identity and relationship to Mr. Partin will be released when appropriate and as circumstances allow. Additional updates on the victim’s condition will be provided as we are able.”
Partin had fled the scene on foot Friday before law enforcement’s arrival, authorities said, and sheriff’s deputies initiated a search of the area with a police K-9 and an aerial drone but were unable to locate Partin until Saturday.

“As for the suspect, Mr. Partin was apprehended at the Bradley-McMinn County line after the McMinn County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a man screaming in the area during the early morning hours of June 13,” Jones said. “Deputies responded to the area, located Mr. Partin and took him into custody without incident.”
