The Chattanooga-Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission is changing venues after the county opted to have separate staff work on zoning cases for the city and county.
Negotiations for a new interlocal agreement — required after Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp severed the previous contract earlier this year — included a revised meeting schedule and moving the meetings out of the Hamilton County Courthouse on Georgia Avenue, where Wamp’s office and Hamilton County Commission meetings are held.
The Planning Commission, which makes recommendations on zoning cases to both the Chattanooga City Council and County Commission and approves subdivision plans throughout Hamilton County, will have its final meeting at the Courthouse on July 13.

Starting Aug. 10, the zoning board will meet in the Development Resource Center at 1250 Market St., where the city’s Regional Planning Agency has its offices and where the future County Planning Department will be based in the new fiscal year, according to a temporary webpage on the county government’s website.
