Reuter announced his retirement Friday after 16 seasons as head coach of the Bearettes, who won four state championships in his tenure.

As the head coach of the Bradley Central High School girls’ baskeball program for the past 16 seasons, Jason Reuter helped lead the Bearettes to almost 500 victories while nearly doubling their total number of state championships to its current count of nine.

All of a sudden, there are some very big shoes to fill on the sideline at Jim Smiddy Arena, but Reuters promises the Bearettes are gaining a loud voice of support in the stands.

After more than a decade and a half in charge of Tennessee prep basketball’s all-time winningest program, Reuter announced his retirement Friday.

“It has been an incredible honor to be the head coach of the Bradley Central Bearette basketball program,” Reuter said in a Bradley Central press release. “Most importantly, I want to say thank you to the people who traveled this road with me. To my assistant coaches, the parents, and the Bradley Central community: Your unwavering support made these victories possible. To my players past and present: Thank you for the grit and heart you poured into this program.

“While I am stepping away from the sidelines, I do so with a deep sense of pride in what we built together. I am excited to remain a part of the Bradley Central faculty and look forward to seeing the continued success of this program.”
