Drivers in Southeast Tennessee should be prepared for a number of traffic snags over the weekend due to ongoing construction, event closures and new traffic patterns.
On East Brainerd Road in Chattanooga, a complete closure is planned for work on the CSX railroad bridge from 5 a.m. Saturday until 8 p.m. Sunday as part of a replacement project, according to Chattanooga Public Works.
The road will be closed between Brainerd Road to Hickory Valley Road. Local traffic will be permitted between Brainerd Road and Benham Drive and between Hickory Valley Road and Premier Drive.
The bridge replacement project has an expected 2028 completion date.
